Rimu de-brief. This trip was a wonderful adventure - both relaxing and exhilarating. We're left savoring the beauty and variety of the country, appreciating the wonderful people we met, and feeling gratified by conquering the physical challenges we faced.

I just returned from my second trip with Active Adventures. The Condor was a thoroughly gratifying vacation experience. Cynthia was an amazing guide. She was knowledgable, flexible, and even gave great food suggestions ;) Cynthia worked very well with our local guides and took great care of all members of the group. THe accomodations were in great locations and the food was top notch! Overall, I would absolutely recommend this trip to Patagonia!

The trip was awesome and unforgettable. It's a shame it wasn't longer. I didn't want to go home after 2 very short weeks. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

In a land far, far away with snow capped peaks and clear running streams a 14 day adventure began at the Christchurch airport where we met some of our tour mates while waiting to meet our fearless guides. The guides took us out and introduced us to our transportation (Ed) and the remaining adventurers. We were whisked away to Braemer Station. This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. The view of the mountains across the lake was stunning followed by a stunning star gazer's sky. Every day had new adventures from hiking, cycling, and kayaking. Far too many to mention here. Orkarito had great kayaking and the hike to 3-mile lagoon and the mountain lookout were amazing. The Nelson Lakes National Park 3-day backpack trek was a great highlight at the end with the stunning views and sunrise and sunsets. Our guides Nick and Amelia took amazing care of us and made sure we were well fed and challenged each day. It just couldn't have been any better. When can I sign up for another adventure??

An amazing trip from start to finish. Cannot pick one highlight from this trip as everyday was AWESOME!!!! From the great website and brochure, you got our attention and kept us interested. The amazing front office staff were so well- organized, friendly and prompt with answering our questions that we knew we were dealing with a reliable, organized and efficient company. The Rimu trip itself ran like clockwork, the itinerary was spot on and packed with great activities. Our guides, Amelia and Nick were AWESOME!!!!! Their enthusiasm, friendliness and hardwork was appreciated during our 14 days - always answering our questions, driving and making delicious meals after an enjoyable yet challenging day of hiking, biking or kayaking. And last but not least our group was the BEST. We all got along and enjoyed each others company. This trip was a trip of a lifetime for us and I want to say THANK YOU for such a great time!!!!

It has been a few weeks since our Rimu adventure on the South Island, and we are both still captivated with the entire experience. We were blessed with exceptional variables during our 2 week trip - from impeccable weather to a wonderful group of travellers, smooth logistics and great timing. But the exceptional constant was our amazing guides, Mike and Natalie. They truly made all of the difference, and were impossibly kind, energetic, knowledgeable, fun and hospitable. We would like to thank them for making this the trip of a lifetime. New Zealand is a beautiful country, and Active New Zealand has seemingly perfected the art of seeing the countryside and adding fun and adventure into such an active trip. The food, itinerary, travel routes, lodging, type & length of each activity, preparation and organization were all impeccable. We know that writing a review is helpful for improvement purposes, but we would not have changed a thing. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

My Active New Zealand Experience: I was pleased with the trip because it was challenging, inspiring and beautiful. The guides were prepared, knowledgeable and supportive. Beyond that, the scenery was incredibly beautiful and the food was absolutely fantastic.

Excellent guides, very well planned. 3 day hike was very strenuous, but worth the views. Food was very well prepared and plentiful. Bikes for the ride needed a little help as they did not shift well.

Our Kauri adventure was a great way to end our time in New Zealand. After exploring the South Island on our Rimu adventure, Kauri was a great way to more fully understand and experience what the Maori culture is all about. The landscape was so different from the South Island, and we welcomed the change in scenery. The variety of activities and the amazing meals really blew us away. Highlights definitely include the mountain biking and the caving. Thanks to our guides for a great trip.

The Manuka trip to the west coast of the South Island was a treat in every respect - great scenery, great hiking, great guides, great food - and, in our case (mid to late Feb.), great weather! Most of us did the Milford Track hike and we all enjoyed it, including 70+ year olds. I think we challenged ourselves and felt pretty good about the results! Go for it!

This was very nice. Low key and functional. I miss handling all the travel ****, but that's just me...otherwise we didn't feel like 'sheeple' ever and we did all these things we wanted to do and probably never would have got to, or it would've taken days to figure out. The Galapagos is so unusual and extensive and precious, that it would be a shame to take it on as an amateur. We were very grateful. I have been laying awake at night realizing how badly we stiffed our guide on the trip. It's shameful. How can I make it right?

We did a great deal of research before picking this trip. We knew we wanted an active trip and knew we wanted to go to Galapagos. And that we wanted this to be a "once in a lifetime" adventure. Needless to say, we had high expectations. I'm happy to say that this trip met those expectations. Every day we were up an out early, doing and learning something new. We hiked, snorkeled, swam, kayaked, and biked, over four islands. We saw many animals; some of them very close up. (Sea lions will sometimes swim right up to you.) Out guide Pablo was excellent - extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The entire trip was extremely well organized and a good mixture of activities with some down time. We had people from four continents on our trip and had lots to talk about. Would I recommend this trip? Yes! We're already planning our next Active trip.

An extraordinary trip; one week later I'm still replaying the images and experiences in my mind! Outstanding places, superb guides (Mel and Dave), compatible and congenial group. Everything in the South Island that I wanted to do and more: Paddling in Marlborough Sound, Okarito Lagoon and Milford Sound; hiking to Mueller Hut near Mt. Cook; walking Franz Josef glacier: It doesn't get better than this! Thanks for putting together such a well-crafted trip and providing such capable guides.

Tortuga February 2013 was everything my wife Tricia had hoped that it would be! The animals, landscapes, and sealife are breathtaking! Our Guide Pablo was fantastic, sharing his comprehensive knowledge of the flora, fauna, and geology of the islands, a love for nature and his profession, and caring that our group had a most excellent adventure! Our tripmates were awesome: like-minded adventurers from around the world who shared both trip and life experiences to become great friends! And last but not least, the accomodations, food, and logistics exceeded our expectations. Thanks to all at ACTIVE S.A. for a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Lauren taught us how to cross a river barefoot. My first time staying in a hut and saw the most beautiful sky in my life at night. Definitely recommend it to everyone who's looking for an adventure.

Upon arriving back to work from this truly amazing adventure, I couldn't stop smiling and talking about this great experience I had. This adventure was truly amazing. Our group had the famous Ken Dixon along with wonderful, warm Amanda. These two leaders really made the experience above and beyond my expectations -- They were always positive, informative, energetic and had a great sense of humor! First, of all about Ken Dixon (famous and experienced) -- the group tried to use his famous name in different locations in NZ (stores, pubs etc...) and we were quickly escorted out the of establishment!!! (just joking) Ken is a wonderful, crazy and experienced guide. We had a blast with him and Amanda B.! I started to call Ken and Amanda (F.O.K and A.= Friends of Ken and Amanda..) What an adventure, this trip was E.P.I.C!! (Experienced, People friendly, Involvement, Culture) This was my first trip with Active Adventures and I hope there will be more Active trips in the future.
