The Tortuga trip with "Active" was much more then I expected. After talking to other people in the Galapagos from different tour companies, it was obvious I made the best choice!! I will never forget my amazing adventure in the Galapagos Islands!! Thank you Jessica and Active South America for a dream come true.

I did the Rimu Trip in Feb 2013 and had a blast! I had fun hiking, kayaking, biking, running, bungy jumping, and backpacking in some of the most beautiful places I've ever been. I recommend this trip for anyone who wants to see much of the South Island while staying active. The three day backpacking trip was a challenge but so worth every step. The views from Angelus Hut were unbelievable. My trip was made even more special by the amazing guides, Amelia and Nick. Can't recommend this trip enough!!! JUST DO IT!

Ken and Nicole were wonderful, great enthusiasm and energy. They never seemed to get tired or out of sorts. New Zealand was the most beautiful place I've ever seen.

Absolutely breathtaking!!! And I'm not just talking about the Kawarau Bungy jump. The hospitality and friendliness of Ken and Nicole, the VERY well organized trip, getting off the beaten track, the cold water plunges, trying new stuff like sea kayaking and heli-hiking, and the jaw-dropping scenery were 'off the charts' as billed.

Awesome trip. Active NZ really knows how to run the ultimate trip. They are organized, professional and deliver on all fronts. I got to experience the South Island in all of its extreme beauty - from the tops of mountains, sea kayaking, biking, beaches - and all in good company. The guides were knowledgeable and made each of us feel 'taken care of'. Mel was an accomplished cook and all our meals were delicious. I felt exhilarated every day of the trip. I loved whole experience. Delightful ~

My Condor Patagonia trek was truly amazing ... one of those experiences that grows better with time. Our guide Cynthia made all of our transitions seamless so that all we had to do was to enjoy this awesome experience.

I really enjoyed the Rimu trip, even though the 3 day Angelus Circuit backpack was a bit more active than I'd anticipated. Elle and Lauren were a big part of making the trip successful. They were patient, efficient, encouraging, and helped you get through the parts of the hike that were toughest for each of us. Their expertise and efficiency and good humor allowed us to relax & enjoy being active in the landscape without sweating the logistical details. I returned home rested, reinvigorated physically and mentally, and full of good memories of the land and the people I met.

An adult outdoor playground. Active New Zealand offered many wonderful activities that I would never have done on my own. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to push their comfort zone. They offered hiking, biking and kayaking in places that were beautiful and challenging. I also met a lot of wonderful people and will have memories to last a lifetime.

Absolutely Perfect - I never did quite believe I wasn't dreaming. A stunningly beautiful country expertly highlighted by Lauren and Elle; two strong, independent, smart, patient, diplomatic, and all around lovely young women with simply amazing work ethics and incredible energy. The 3-day backpacking trip was challenging for me, but somehow motivation just appeared from the endless blue sky (how do they do that?). Ultimately this was my favorite part of the trip, though the competition was fierce for this honor. This trip was just plain fun (!) even when it was hard; not a moment was left unlived; not a step was wasted. Milford Sound was misty and mysterious; Aoraki wouldn't show itself until we approached the ridge (cloud piercer, indeed, it made us climb to find the sun). I ate everything placed in front of me and enjoyed every morsel. This was a mother/daughter adventure for us and if fit us both perfectly -- thank you, Active NZ for this memory. Finally, the Seattle-ite in me must admit, they make excellent cappuccino's in those south island towns....

Truly fabulous, from the scenery (outstanding!), the guides (wonderfully knowledgeable, personable, accommodating--with skilled driving from Ben C and amazing food from our Brit guide Amanda T!) to the near perfect weather! Some of the hikes were more challenging than I expected (but I personally LOVE a challenge!) and the scenery and sense of accomplishment made the effort so worthwhile. I traveled alone half-way around the world for the experience of a lifetime and I met a lot of great people along the way. As an aside, I had brought my iPhone and got a SIM card when I arrived with the thought that I could send and receive text messages cheaply, where service was available, to keep in touch with family--however, in most places there was no service at all. On our free day in Queenstown, I hiked alone to the top of a Ben Lomond (a highly recommended hike!) and as I overlooked the city below, the beautiful lake and incredible snowcapped mountains in a 360-degree panorama and stood there with several young men from around the world on that relatively small peak, I heard a "ding" in my backpack. It was a rare text that got through and it was from my son back in the US announcing that my 4th grandchild had arrived! I'll never forget it. I celebrated the news with my new-found friends at the top of a mountain, literally half-way around the world. Amazing.

If the Kauri trip only approached the "WOW" factor, Rimu certainly got there, over and over again. From the picturesque accommodation at Braemar Station, to the rugged climb up to Mueller Hut, the exploration of Milford sound by kayak, the heli-hike and climb on Franz Josef Glacier, the serenity and charm of Okarito, to the adventure of a 3 day hike (Angelus Circuit) along a mountain crest, kept me in wonder and delight. Truly and trip of a lifetime. Special thanks to Ben C. and Sarah for their excellent guiding "above and beyond all expectations".
