The Kauri trip was great, and in true Active Adventures fashion, the guides were awesome. We were lucky when it came to the weather, and our guides pulled no punches in letting us know what to pack and what to expect if the worst happened. They also did not hesitate to make a decision when the 'bad weather' never came urging us to press on and continue the adventure.

Wow, trip of a lifetime. I would move to Isabella and live there for awhile. Pablo absolutely made this trip. He is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about his islands and all that is on them (including the people on his island). We saw turtles and penguins and sea lions and flamingos and iguanas everywhere, everyday. Swimming with the turtles and penguins and sea lions is amazing (if somewhat shocking at first!). Beautiful to see and be a part of.

Our family group of seven, aged 31 to 61, had a wonderful time with aggressive hikes for 5 days including a 9 hour hike to just short of 16,000 feet, nice bike ride, day unscheduled and 3 days in the jungle. Unscheduled day was white water rafting 2 hours outside of Cuzco which I recommend adding to all trips. Our primary guide, Cynthia, was terrific and very helpful keeping us all challenged, entertained, well fed and full of smiles.

It took just a few days into the trip to realize that I had never felt quite like I was feeling on this trip. It was a wonderful feeling. All the pesky details were being taken care of and we were being delighted by wonderful sights, great activities, great food and lovely company. It was like being a kid again without any of the negative aspects of being a kid. Our guides, Sarah and Graeme were wonderful. They worked so well together to create a true trip of a lifetime. It couldn't have been better.

Our guides were awesome, Lauren and Sally, we couldn't ask for 2 nicer people. They were so organized, great food, and safe driving of course. We were looked after extremely well. Visited some fab places and just had a great time. We were also blessed with a great bunch of travelers. Cheers!

The views were breathtaking. Only critique is that all the cold weather gear on list wasn't needed at all. It was pretty warm. Guides were great and a lot of fun. Overall had a great time and met great people.

Really handsome tour guides and local tour guide Gokul had a superb mustache. My impression was that relative to other guides DK has a much more solid understanding of the culture, local history, trekking, and appreciation of the local flair than other foreign guides. In addition, his relationship with local guide Gokul was first class. You will obviously have to cope with long hikes, cold, and altitude but I thought the Active team did a great job of making everything they could as easy as possible and keeping the attitude optimistic. All-in-all really enjoyed the trip. From what I understand, DK also has a vision to continue to improve the trip so that future participants should be even safer, learn even more about the local flora, fauna, and people through iPads etc.

Scenery is spectacular and the local people are the friendliest and most accommodating than in any other remote locale I have visited. More strenuous than expected is how I describe the trekking and awe inspiring is how I describe the mountains and trails. This is a trip I would recommend for the physically fit to conquer the terrain and mentally fit to accept the substandard accommodations.

It was tremendous! I feel so lucky and privileged to have visited this fabulous place. Pablo our guide was so passionate about the history ecology and preservation of this beautiful part of the world. We saw every animal there was to see and super close up! Snorkeling with sea lions, turtles and penguins was definitely a highlight! So fun.

We traveled with another couple that we met on an adventure in southeast Asia. This proved to be equally exciting and a good way to make new friends. A highlight was homemade Martinis in our tent after a long day of hiking.

This trip to EBC was very rewarding and full of new views every step of the way to Kala Patthar summit. Seeing Everest as the sun came up with a clear sky, and the sun rising behind all the peaks was the best part of the trip. EBC and every peak was a sight that most see on a picture, map, or on the web. Being in person seeing the views took your breath away at 5550 meters you don’t need much help on that one as your standing around the ridge celebrating with those of the team that came to the summit with you. The leaders Kate, Sudip, and Babeek did a great job every step of the way through the whole trip! The food and tea houses were well chosen were much nicer than I thought we would be staying at on this trip. If I could have washed my clothing and grabbed a few treats, I would have done the trek again to EBC.

The trip to Everest Base Camp was awesome. The trek was challenging but our guides - Kate and Suideep - gave all of us encouraging words, and helped us carry on. Active is a great company - I felt taken care of and treated special. The guides and porters looked after us. I have only heaps of praise...
