The Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is a stunning walk through a beautiful part of the Himalayas, physically challenging, but so rewarding in many different ways. The mountains are epic, the people are inspiring, the food is great and the cuppas along the way are always hot and very well received!

My husband and I had a wonderful time on the Jaguar trip to Peru. It made for a fun and unique honeymoon experience that we will remember forever. Elder, our guide, was fantastic, extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about sharing his home country with everyone. In addition to a memorable trip to Peru, we made lasting friendships with everyone on our excursion and hope to reunite on another Active Adventure some day!

The experience I had in Peru was completely unexpected. I knew that I would have a good time, but I believe I have come back as a different person. For me, it was a unique personal and emotional experience. The people within my group will be friends for a lifetime. The beauty of Peru-the landscape, the people-are indescribable. As far as operation of the company during the trip, I found to be exceptional. Any issue or problem, if one occurred was taken care of promptly. Elder (trip leader) cared well for all of us. Truly a genuine individual. Thank you Active South America for a life changing trip.

You look at pictures and read about Nepal before you go, but nothing could prepare you for the experience you will have. The scenery, people, and hiking is more than I feel I could absorb while I was there. I would recommend this trip to anyone who has an open heart and appreciation for the outdoors.

Of course the beautiful and varied landscape was so amazing. Add to that all the wildlife and you have a trip even better than we imagined. But what made the trip worth five stars was the experience with our guide and all who worked with him to make it all so easy and unforgettable for us. I think Pepo made the members of our group really care about the Galapagos, showing us what a special place it is and how important it is to preserve the islands. He answered every single one of our questions without even hesitating. Very impressive. On top of that he is just a "super" nice guy. We had so much fun doing all the activities especially swimming with sea lions and turtles and iguanas. Even the volcano hike was a good time. Congratulations, Active SA. You put together a great tour and we are happy to recommend it to friends and family.

I completed a trip just before my Active trip with G adventures, it didn't even close to stack up. The hotel Rumi Punku was amazing. So many great things that we saw and did. Plus our guide Elder was beyond amazing so knowledgeable and fun. I will be doing another Active trip in the future.

Where do I begin??? I have nothing but glowing comments regarding our Peru trek. Running a close second to the stunning mountainous vistas of Peru was the level of professionalism of your staff and the quality of your tour company. What did I like the best other than our phenomenal guide Elder? How about the supporting cast? I can't say enough great things about them? A special thanks to Mayra, Clemente, Freddie and all of the others. You'd be hard pressed to find a more professional and helpful crew who seemed to never tire. It doesn't stop there either. Our hotels in Cusco and Puerto Maldonado were top notch! We loved it! Our hotel in Lima... not so much. The compassion and stewardship that your guides showed to the local people and the environment on the Lares Trail by offering bread, cocoa leaves and small gifts along the trek was very touching and I'm so happy they shared this with us prior to starting the hike so we could participate as well. I would never call this a "once in a lifetime time trip" because my wife and I look forward to our next Active South America adventure.

This was our first trip with Active Adventures and we will defiantly do another one in the future possibly South America, who knows. We were totally impressed by our two guides. They met every expectation and then some. They were knowledgeable, hard working, and lots of fun. We saw and did many wonderful hikes and activities all over the South Island but more importantly we had a lot of fun, met amazing interesting people, and felt like we had had the experience of a life time. We originally thought 8 days would be a long time but if possible I would recommend one of the 14 day adventures. I also have to say that the hotels, travel lodges, cabins, and hostels that we stayed in were in some of the most enchanting locations with very few people and not tourist central. We so appreciated those one-of-a-kind locations.

Galapagos, WOW! This, our third adventure with Active South America was unique and exciting, and this third one tops them all! Spectacular! Daily packed full of the activities and actions we love, including photography. The coaching by two world class photographers was 'special'. Our local Galapageno guide Pablo was the best! Our local Galapagos support group "GalaLKiwi" and their staff were efficient, thorough and caring. Ivan Kashinsky and Karla Gachet, our two Nat Geo published photographic coaches, were informative, personable, and fun to be with. And the best of all... The Galapagos! Words cannot describe this pelagic remote and 'other worldly' place and its marine and terrestrial wildlife. You had to be there! Our six fellow travelers were wonderful companions, all of them were into nature, people and photography. I would recommend this adventure in a heartbeat! This adventure of packed full days leaves one exhausted at the end of each day, and up for what's coming the next. Me? I'm a life-long sailor who never gets seasick, and so... a little advice for those who are subject to seasickness, this adventure involves a lot of time on the ocean... bring those tablets!

Everything was amazing, the scenery was literally breathtaking, the hiking felt like more than just walking as there was so much to take in - porters carrying exceptionally crazy loads, yak trains, rhododendrons, friendly locals, cool dogs that became companions for part of our journey, monasteries, the spinning of prayer wheels and mountain peaks that soared into the sky. Our guides and porters were fun, helpful, informative and looked after us really well, the tea houses were simple but lovely and well stocked with lots of different food to choose from and lots of delicious tea! A brilliant trip - thank you

This was really an amazing experience. I've been lucky enough to see, firsthand, numerous Rocky Mountain peaks but when you take the average elevation on those and DOUBLE it, it makes for some breathtaking views. The tour itinerary was very well planned, the guides were exceptionally qualified, and the Nepali people were surprisingly friendly. Add that to a group of like-minded travelers and you are in for one cool trip!

The Active Himalayas trip was amazing. From the first moment of this very hard journey you can tell that the people that were guiding you truly cared and the capacity for friendship, knowledge, and growth was as high as the tops of the mountains all around you. My review is very positive, I thought the trip was well planned and organized; our guides, DK and Sudeep, knew a lot about the culture and the surroundings to make it very interesting to trek through the wilderness everyday. The trip is not easy, but something happens around day 6 of continuous walking, your cares start to melt away and the sameness of your feet moving beneath you opens to the wonderful richness of the world, the humor that surrounds you and the little things that make us human. Our group dynamic can only be described as a synergy - as all group members brought a rich and wonderful perspective to the hike. I learned a lot about the Nepalese as well as a lot of different places in the world, about the earth beneath me, and mostly about myself.

Distances each day were appropriate. Guides were helpful and friendly. Organisation was all as planned with no hiccups. Dinner last night in Pokhara should probably be in a different venue with more prompt service. This seemed a party venue for young people but Active Tours, by virtue of being more expensive than simply back-packing, will tend to cater for older, wealthier travellers. This is a small concern in a trip that, overall, was excellent.
