ANZ, Enjoyed the trip very much. It was well organized and lived up to the company name of Active NZ. Accommodations were fine, meals prepared by Kate and Nick were delicious and bountiful. Information pertinent to the sites,areas provided by Kate was very good (this is of great value on all my trips). These two gave us great service and worked hard to make sure all our needs were met. All daily departure times were on schedule through out the trip. Points to consider:physical condition required for this trip is accurate for all but the hike up to and down from Angelus Hut. My group was in condition and managed the task, but I could see where someone not in really good condition could cause separation of the group and create a problem for your 2-person team to manage. There were times when we felt Kate and Nick needed a third person to assist them. Occasionally they would have to separate as one would have to leave us to prepare for our next lunch or move the bus or whatever. Another thought is the need for water shoes of some sort or flip flops in your gear list. I would say water shoes or whatever one needs to cross streams is a must. Flip flops are great in camp, but not for forging streams. And, wet hiking boots for me is not an option to start the climb to Angelus hut. These are a few of my thoughts and others concurred as well. We all loved the trip and enjoyed working with both the field staff and those in the office who showed patience in working with our crazy group of friends and family. All the best,
