The Condor trip was my first adventure into South America. Admittedly, I was a worried that my lack of Spanish and inexperience on the continent would spoil the opportunity. I could not have been more wrong. The Condor trip was my best adventure yet!
Our guide Cahit quickly proved to be an amazing leader. He was highly knowledgeable about the region, helpful in every language situation, highly organized and just a really fun human being. He helped our group bond quickly and made sure each of us enjoyed our time in Patagonia. All the supportive guides were also very friendly and supportive. Our W-Trek guide, Cem helped make some very challenging hikes a hoot of a time with his great personality.
As for the adventures, the Condor package is amazing. Without a doubt, hiking the W-Trek and Monte Fitz Roy are two of most treasured experiences. The glaciers, icebergs, biking, hiking, wildlife, weather, terrain and people in this region are amazing. I would strongly prescribe this experience to any human wanting to see beauty and experience adventure. Thank you, Active Adventures, for this wonderful experience!

Another Active Adventures Adventure this time in Ecuador. Beyond incredible trip. Land based Galapagos tour way to see how the local people live on the island, contribute to their economy and enjoy delicious local cuisine.

I can honestly say that I don't think it would be possible to plan a trip like this on your own. There is a lot to be said for exploring off the beaten path & Steve & Pepper sure delivered that type of trip for us.

Too many people we know have tried to cover too much in too little time on a New Zealand vacation. From the beginning of our planning, we vowed not to do so. We booked the Kauri trip first and then scheduled our other north island plans around it. A great decision!
I love authentic, off the beaten path, adventure travel. The Kauri trip was all that and more! Our introductions to Maori culture, the fabulous hikes, our nighttime walk through the Waipoua forest to experience the magnificent Kauri trees, Andy's incredible knowledge and great driving, Jo's great cheer and amazing cooking, our spur of the moment opportunity to observe a community kiwi release...I could go on and on and on. We have wonderful treasured moments and myriad memories of a lifetime. Thank you so much, Active Adventures!

Being escorted by knowledgeable guides helped us to experience New Zealand in a way that we could not have planned on our own. Between activities, we learned about local customs, history, and geology, and met like-minded fellow travelers who made the journey even more memorable. We had maximum adventures with minimum stress, since agendas and meals were pre-planned. And our guides were awesome chefs!

As someone who mostly travels independently, the thought of signing up for a two week organized group trip was rather intimidating but after reading all the reviews for Active, I thought I would give it a try... and I am so glad I did! Active Adventures made everything flow effortlessly- from the second I signed up until we were dropped of at the airport. The itinerary for the Condor trip is phenomenal, covering lots of different areas of Southern Patagonia and highlighting the most beautiful places. The W trek was one of the highlights of the trip and was even more enjoyable thanks to our guide, Cem, who was a wealth of knowledge about the flora and fauna and brought such a fun energy to the group. Additionally, our tour leader, Zac, had such a positive spirit, strong sense of humor and passion for his work that showed during our two weeks getting to know him. He was so well organized and made sure everything was lined up so we could relax and enjoy our downtime- including nailing a birthday dinner and cake! Would highly recommend this trip and organization to anyone in the future!

The Condor trip to Patagonia was amazing. Great weather, great travel companions and great guides. Cynthia, Anna and Fredrico did an exceptional job, they were knowledgeable, friendly, humorous and patient. I truly appreciated Cynthia’s french press coffee and the cake at the refugio for Bill’s birthday!
Some hiking days were challenging but very rewarding. Active Adventures did a wonderful job of planning the itinerary, hotels and restaurants. I would definitely book another vacation with Active Adventures.

I would definitely endorse this trip to anyone considering going to this area. This trip was near perfect in all ways, we were a bit off season so there were not so many crowds, the weather though overcast many days was great (even had sun in Machu Picchu) Our guides (Eric and Peppo) were wonderful hosts, showing us an area which you can tell they love and are proud of. The food was wonderful, accommodations were overall great....totally loved the dome room in San Cristobal, only caveat was the room in Cusco had issue with sewer gas escaping into the room.

The decision to go to EBC was actually a quick one. It was not on my bucket list, I really knew nothing about Nepal or the Himalayas and I never had the Everest “bug.†But when I was halfway through the rough year that was 2017 (both politically in the US as well as personally and professionally), I knew I needed a vacation. I had a great experience in New Zealand in October of 2016 – a truly magical place and a great active adventure – I started perusing the Active Adventures site to see where I could go when I had free time in November. I inquired online and almost immediately got a call back and there was a spot on the trip I was looking at. I booked immediately. Then suddenly thought “**********&*k have I done?†Fast forward to November, I arrived in Kathmandu (after many emails and OBI notifications later) well prepared to start my journey. I will say, I wish I had gotten the Nepal visa in advance, but couldn’t ship my passport to the embassy due to work which could call me out of the country on a day’s notice. That said, I rolled with it – which is the mindset you need for the entire trip. There is so much I could say about everyone from Active Adventures – I had the pleasure of being on a trip with not only the primary and Nepali guide (Mel and Gokul) but also Button (in training) but also John and Michelle from HQ. This trip is no joke – there is so much to manage with a group in the Himalayas. You have no idea what these mountains have in store – the altitude, the elements, the long days and for even the most well-travelled explorer simple accommodations. We had challenges and folks fell ill and there were emergency evacuations and early departures, which Mel and Gokul handled with grace. I really was amazed at how they could manage all the logistics but most riveting was their personal connection to both us tourists as well as literally everyone we met on the road. As I mentioned above, I never really planned to go to Nepal, and now I am seriously contemplating how I can go back soon. It was truly a magical and spiritual place – and I can’t thank the entire Active Adventure team enough for that experience. I know I didn’t give great soundbytes in the above, so if there is anything I can more specifically address, please let me know. Or if there is more I can extol about Mel or Gokul, I am happy to provide.

This was a trip I planned for years and it is easy to be disappointed when you have built it up so high in your mind, but, if anything, this trip was even better than I imagined. We must have been assigned the best guides in the company, because I cannot imagine the trip with anyone else in charge.

This trip was worth every penny. We had marvelous lodging that we could not have accessed on our own. Our access to trails, parks and activities was all arranged and all we had to worry about was showing up for the experience. We were truly touched by the extent to which our guides went out of their way to respond to our special food needs. I felt truly safe, supported by the experience, training and good will of our guides. I came home stronger and with new confidence that as an elder I can still take on physically challenging experiences and succeed. What a gift that is.

From start to finish, our guides (Ben and Emma) spoiled us with first-class service. Always cheerful and genuinely caring for our every need. Accommodations were all GREAT, as was the food and the always available snacks on the bus. As food preparers/chefs, they always made sure we were fed well and on time... important after many a gruelling hike. The hiking was more challenging than I thought, but worth every breath and groan. The bus was comfortable (a necessity for the long rides) and spacious. The South Island was as gorgeous as billed, and fortunately for the group I brought along the magnificent weather we experienced throughout. If this is typical of Active Adventures experience, then I will for sure be a repeat AA customer. Good Job!!
