My partner Judy and I had a great time on the two week Rimu adventure. Ken and Nichole were great hosts for New Zealand and made every turn of the trip another travel experience. Ken is a consumate host with lots of anecdotes about the country he so obviously loves and knows. Nichole provided delicious meals and backed us up on the hikes to be sure all the little chicks got home to roost. And they did it all with good humor, enthusiasm, and patience. They accounted well for the varying levels of experience and fitness, although this is not an adventure that should be taken lightly to really enjoy it, especially the Angelus Track, which we had to do as an out-and-back due to snow: Hard to imagine some doing it as the circuit that was planned. Those "little bit of climbs" described by Ken could be a real challenge! We had wonderful weather in a gorgeous setting, yes, truly a trip of a lifetime and one I hope to expand on sometime in the future.

Enjoyed staying on land and giving back to the locals, walking around town in the evening, etc. Jessica was a fountain of information and made us feel like a family, her family. It was a lot of fun to see all the things you hear about and never really think you will get a chance to actually do!

This group of active adults travelled from Portland, Oregon together to experience New Zealand and experience it we did. We hiked the Tongariro Crossing and the next day it was closed due to volcanic experience. We mountain biked a downhill banked course in the W. Forest. We finished tubing through the Waitomo Caves which involved jumping backwards off waterfalls. Such a thrill. On my return trip, I'm sure I'll be brave enough to bungy jump!!

I could not be happier with my Active experience on the South Island. Highly recommend Active New Zealand. Delighted that the guides enjoyed sharing New Zealand with us. I so delighted in hiking, kayaking, snorkeling, and biking this incredibly beautiful and friendly country. Would return in a minute.

It was a great cultural trip. I learned quite a bit about Hindu/Buddist cultures and really enjoyed the scenery of the Himalayas.

November 18 Tui - a great adventure. Every day felt like it was full of fun and adventure. Besides being is some of the most beautiful country I've ever seen, I got the thrill of flying in a helicopter and a small plane, walking on a glacier, taking a jet boat ride, biking, and kayaking. Daniel and Elle made the trip special with the great stories, yummy meals, keeping everything well organized, fun, and taking care of even the smallest details. I can't wait to do it all again in a couple of years.

A holiday of a lifetime full of challenges and adventure. I particularly enjoyed the more remote areas we visited especially Okarito and Milford sound. The heli and plane ride were spectacular and a fantastic way of seeing the snow capped mountains and glaciers of South Island. During the trip we experienced many wild and wonderful places and met some great people. Our guides Amelia and Kate were energetic and informative and great fun to be with.

Usually when I go for a long holiday, I will start to feel tired and miss home. However, I felt time flying during the Rimu trip. There are surprises for us every day - partly probably due to the fact that I didn't do any homework to study the itinerary since it's supposed to be a guided trip, and what we need to do is just to come with a beautiful holiday mood, and everything else will be taken care of. For this point, there is of course no surprise, which we are certainly quite happy with. I enjoyed not only the activities, but also the variety of food arranged for us throughout the whole trip. Hard on you - Amanda and Lauren. Thank you!

Active Himalayas proved to be equally as awesome as my experience with Active New Zealand! As I hoped, the excellent guides and Active staff took care of every last detail and made the trip incredibly memorable and smooth. Whatever the group or an individual needed, they flawlessly rose to the occasion - whether someone needed encouragement, information, reassurance, a good belly laugh, or a reminder to relax and go with the flow... And perhaps most memorable was the wonderful and vital incorporation of the porters and Nepali guides into our team as well - those interactions with locals helped us experience a better taste of the real Nepal, not just the tourist track.

We were well taken care of from beginning to end. Kate always made sure we were comfortable and our needs were being met. All the guides always put our safety at the forefront, especially as we skirted along the edges with yaks beside us. If we were under the weather, they showed great concern and provided us with any necessary first aid. The lodges they chose were top rate, with the exception of Dingboche, though I'm not sure there was anything much better in the area. The small extras they provided were great, especially the water tablets, map, and candy bar before the trip and the hot moist towels and hot shower we got in Lobuche was much appreciated. I think the small surprises we got along the way really added up.
