Our guides, Daniel and Sara were awesome. They were great hosts, kept us informed about the areas we were traveling in, always allowed enough time for us to see the spectacular scenery and the meals were all delicious.

Thank you so much for such a great experience - the trip was well organised and allowed me to experience the real New Zealand. What a beautiful country you have and I value your approach to a sustainable ecology. Lauren and Heather are a great team - they looked after us exceptionally well. I am looking forward to joining you on another Active journey in the near future.

On behalf of our entrire family I want to thank Active New Zealand and especially our guides Lofty and Mel for the best vacation we have ever had. The scenery was stunning and Lofty and Mel did a great job making sure everyone had fun, learned a lot and was generally well taken care of throughout the trip. It is obvious how much they enjoy spending time with the kids and they made it a lot of fun for them.

If you want to experience the beautiful outdoors of the South Island, have exciting and challenging activities and be in the presence of guides who are full of positive energy, encouragement, and wonderful ideas about suitable adventures for any age, then this is the trip for you. Oh, did I mention the fantastic food that was beautiful to look at, wonderfully tasty and healthy. This trip had everything.

As we viewed Franz Joseph from the peak of our hike, my family and I asked each other how you might be able to adequately convey what we were experiencing. The consensus was "You can't." Day after day, the scenery was magnificent, the activities delightfully challenging and the comrodary of our group cheerfully engaging. A special thanks to our guides who ensured we worried about nothing.

Awesome trip. Great scenery. Despite the distance covered (2600km), the activities and scenery of the South Island are very impressive.

Sally and Colin's Adventure.... For those who may read this and are short of time, the only words you need to read are fantastic trip, fantastic guides, and fantastic adventure! For those of you who have more time to read and are thinking of travelling New Zealand (The land of the Long White Cloud), then we can thoroughly recommend the Rimu Trip provided by Active New Zealand. From start to finish the service and support provided by Active New Zealand was honestly, second to none. Having arrived at Christchurch airport, we were promptly greeted by our guides and mentors, Lina and Natalie. These are two of the nicest, caring and funny people you could hope to meet (that's funny, ha, ha and not funny weird:¦ or maybe not ;-) ). Both girls were quick to put us at our ease and reassure us that we had definitely made the right choice. It was clear that both Lina and Nat were both passionate about their work and proud of their heritage, which they put to good use when storytelling or answering questions about history and surroundings. In short order, we set about our adventure and were pleased to note that such was the planning and experience of the girls, that any questions or concerns we might have had, were answered by Lina's introductions and directions ahead of asking. This continued throughout the trip to the very end and our final sad goodbye. As the days progressed, our group was given new challenges of varying difficulty, which members could adapt to suit their own strengths or requirements. All of which were achieved with the subtle encouragement and support given by our guides. Without doubt, we have far too many favoured parts of the trip to mention them all but of particular note was our first climb out of Braemar Station, by Mount Cook, white water rafting in Queenstown and in particular the three day hiking trip at Nelson Lakes. Throughout, the magic hands of Nat and Lina, provided snacks galore and delicious meals that always "hit the mark" and appeared just when needed. It was particularly pleasing to note that Nat took the time to ask the group as to preferences etc. and adapted her tasty meals to suit. Having arrived as strangers, the Rimu Trip gave ample opportunity for us to bond closely with our fellow travellers and as such we have made good friends, who we remain in contact with and hope to meet again. In its own right the Rimu Trip is excellent and should not need selling but what really made it for us was the tireless attention to detail, support and humour provided by both our guides. To Lina and Natalie, we take our hats off to you both and thank you for the brilliant time you gave us. Such was the adventure, we are now planning our next trip with Active, to South America. Thanks again to all at Active New Zealand.
