This trip exceeded all expectation. Not only was the variety of wildlife unbelievable, the quantity was awesome. You can't imagine the fun of swimming with sharks, rays, sea turtles, etc until you actually get to do it!

Before my Rimu trip started, I had spent 5 months in Christchurch studying at the University of Canterbury. I had done a lot of traveling with my friends so I was nervous that I would be seeing the same things over again, but that was not the case. We went to little known, secluded places that provided completely different experiences than I had before. The trip allowed me to see NZ in a new and beautiful way. It was the perfect way to end my 5 months abroad in the most wonderful country!

This trip introduced me to the most exceedingly awesome place! I loved the way Active ran the trip. We were always doing something and never bored. I was a little tired on day 3, but after that it was pure enjoyment. I love the food cooked by Heather - yum - and Lauren was awesome with all her knowledge and stories. She is the most nice guide I've ever had. She could handle anything. The hikes were great and she always had plan a b or c ready to go.

Traveling around the South Island of New Zealand was the perfect way to get away from the stress of the holidays and everyday life. We were well taken care of, the scenery was incredible, and the activities were a blast. Kayaking in Queen Charlotte Sound and hell-hiking at the Franz Josef glacier were highlights, definitely worth the additional cost.

The trip was definitely not "Rest New Zealand " :) I enjoyed the entire trip. A great mix of physical activity, family time, time meeting fellow trampers all in the awesome South Island! Highly recommended.

Thank you everyone who had anything to do with the organisation of our Manuka trip. From the very start the professional information sent via OBI, emails and personal phone calls from both Lynette and Jodi was excellent. And our two beautiful leaders - Lauren and Heather - were just awesome. Both worked far beyond the call of duty. Always ready to support, share information, give us a variety of beautiful fresh and healthy food and magical driving and arrive at our destinations still smiling was amazing after some very long days and yet still be there to walk with us on the treks. I was blown away by them both. Not easy to put a whole bunch of strangers together and please everyone. Yet they did. I can't wait to hear from all my fellow travellers and have enjoyed writing to them all and sending photos. Thank you again. I hope one day to do the Active Nepal trip. Regards, Chrissie

The trip was amazing and it really gave me a sense of the S Island of NZ. A highlight for me was kayaking Queen Charlotte Sound and biking along the wildflowers and the lake. Ken and Nick were pretty amazing. They had us pushing ourselves, enjoying ourselves, and laughing at ourselves throughout.

Could have not imagine it would have turned out as good as it did. My compliments to both Amanda & Duck. They were both amazing an professionals. It has been an exciting 8 days filled with lots of fun. I met amazing people during my trip . Amelia and Amanda, my guides were so friendly and supportive. They changed the plan according to the schedule and weather and made sure that we got the most out of our trip. They took care of everything up to fine detail, even made sure that I get soy milk for my coffee when having brekkie provided by the hotel.

Tim and Eduardo could not have been better. My group was very cohesive - we plan on getting together soon when we are visiting each others' home cities. We have opened our homes to each other. Words cannot describe the experience. Most of us had never been on a tour before and had reservations about traveling with the same "strangers" for ten days. After the first dinner, we knew that we would become lifelong friends. It was a special treat to have Tim on our trip. He provided a totally different insight than Eduardo - he was the task master, he had no fear of sharks or cold water, he opened up his office every AM with fresh pressed coffee! Eduardo was always eager to answer our questions and offerred us opportunities on his home island of Santa Cruz on New Year's Eve that gave us a unique insight into living on one of the Galapagos Islands. No one should go to the Galapagos unless they go on an Active South America cruise!
