Traveling with Active New Zealand has spoiled me for all future trips. I will compare any vacation I may take in the future with this one and I cannot believe that anything will compare with the incredible scenery and exhilarating physical activity, in the setting of not having to drive, cook, or worry about anything. I ate well, slept well, and had so much fun with new friends. Nothing could be as Sweet As New Zealand.

This is an active way to see Peru. It was great to be doing activities such as extra hiking, cycling and kayaking that other groups did not get to do. We were very well cared for and maybe even spoiled! Get in shape before you go and follow the gear list to get the most enjoyment out of your trip.

Our trip down to Chile and Argentina with Cynthia was absolutely phenomenal! Having previously travelled down to New Zealand with Active, we knew we could certainly expect another trip of a lifetime, but we had no idea just how unforgettable it would be. Active has the uncanny ability to bring such a variety of people (different backgrounds, different ages, different personalities, different ability levels) together on each trip to form an extended family vacation. Having the itinerary planned each day such that all you have to keep track of are the camera and any stragglers allows for continuous, stress-free, breath-taking adventures every moment of the trip!

I had never trekked before, so this was a totally new experience for me. I will never forget this trip. It was one of the most difficult physically and mentally challenging things I have ever done. I do wish someone had been more up front on the description of this trip. That being said, it was truly amazing.

We had a fantastic time on our trip...we loved the mix of outdoor and historical/educational activities, and the food was great. Even when we had to take some time away from the group for a short bit due to medical reasons, Active SA helped us sort everything out and get back with the group as quickly as possible. Also, we owe many thanks to Cynthia, who was such a friendly, awesome guide!

The Jaguar itinerary was great, we got to see so many different aspects of Peru. Yohn took care of everything and always had a great attitude, and the partners that Active works with were all excellent. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay twice as long!

What made this trip exceptional were the people we got to spend our 10 days with. We were fortunate to have people from all different countries and ages - from 16 to 60. We couldn't have asked for a better group. We all got along and had a lot of laughs along the way. The Galapagos is a wonder, and it was a very well planned and active trip. We were very busy every day and night, but I appreciated having some down time towards the end of the trip. Highlights were the 7 hour hike on Isabela, seeing and swimming with a Whale Shark, the animals, tortoises and Pablo! This is a trip for people who want to be active and get more of a sense for the Islands rather than being on a boat or being holed up in a fancy hotel. One of the accommodations wasn't great but it was only for a night and we survived. All in all so glad I booked this trip- it was amazing!

Absolutely incredible trip! The sites of Peru were amazing, really enjoyed the Lares Trail, Machu Picchu, Rainforest, and Lake Titicaca. As wonderful as the sites were, the people were even better. Yohn was a great tour leader and was so friendly and funny. Thanks for the great memories, Active and Yohn!

I could write a thousand words about how exquisitely memorable my Peru trip was. I could write a million more about our trip guide, and the team of guides, cooks, porters and drivers he orchestrated like a Philharmonic conductor through the icy Andes... and the Inca wonderlands... Cusco, Pisac, Calientes, Puno and its Lake Titikaka. And and in the dripping Amazon dream-jungle. I could tell you about how this guide unveiled a mysticism and a beauty in everything he showed us, through his passion for his native Peru. But I'll keep it simple because you need to understand just one thing... the Jaguar trip is one of the things I will think about as I lie dying one day. It was simply that unforgettable. Thank you so much to Yohn!

Trip trip was fantastic and one of the best trip I've ever made. It was well organized with perfect balance of activities, relaxing and learning. I've really enjoyed thanks to professional guides and nice people we've met. Islands were so beautiful and I've never seen animals and birds so close to us. There are not so many places I'd like to feel going again as I'd like to go to see new places, but Galapagos is definitely the place that I'd like to come back soon. I appreciate Pablo-san, Tim-san and Nick-san who made trip really enjoyable for everyone.

What a blast I had on the Tui trip! It was a perfect week-long taste of many of the highlights of the South Island... just enough to whet my appetite to explore even more! I loved the eclectic mix of outdoor adventures that we experienced, seeing gorgeous parts of the south island from foot, plane, jet boat, kayak and bike, not to mention from the bus! Magnus and Lauren were exceptional guides - ensuring we were all taken care of down to the last minute detail. Don't expect to lose weight, though, as they feed you incredibly well (besides, who wants to lose weight on vacation anyhow?!) The ethics of our guides, and those of the whole company, seem to be centered around always providing an exceptionally memorable and personalized active experience for all the guests. Never did I feel herded to the "hot tourist spots" only to take a photo for 5 minutes and then be schlepped to the next big name must-see place. Though the itinerary is fast paced in order to see as much of the island as it covers in only 8 days, it is well structured to give you many different tastes of the wonders that New Zealand has to offer.
Loved the trip, loved the people I met, loved the guides, and loved New Zealand! I can't wait to visit again!

I have been looking forward to going to the Galapagos for a long time and I love being active, so this trip seemed perfect for me. It did not disappoint me. I loved hiking, kayaking, snorkling and biking all over the Galapagos. The guide, Pablo, was the best guide I have ever had on a trip. He explained the unique plants, animals and geology of the Galapagos in a exciting and fun way. I highly recommend this trip to anyone. It was so amazing so all the animals up close but still in their wild environment.

The face of the company is the guides, and both Lina and Amanda are genuine, caring, and decisive individuals. Our group was small enough to prompt an intimate exchange of stories, experiences, and emotions; which passed the time on the long drives, filled the kitchen with laughter, and raised everyone's confidence on the trail, such as wading through a river at 7 in the morning.

My husband and I took the Galapagos trip in April 2012. It was one of the most amazing trips we have ever been on. We had not used Active South America before, but we were very happy with how everything went.
